ragnorosso's conversations

Hi Ragnorosso.

I take you point. The site help file is a little ambiguous :

Do I place the photo where it was taken or over the subject?

Most of the time it makes more sense to place the photo where it was taken, as that gives others the possibility of going back to that point and see the same landscape. There may be exceptions, however, and we trust you as the best judge to know where should a photo be placed.

So to develop your point if you are standing next to the cafe on top of the Orme and take a picture of Puffin Island with a telephote lens so it fills the frame I can see it would make sense to place the marker on Puffin Island.

I will bear this in mind when placing any more of my pictures, regards, Steve

Because I uploaded a bunch of pics of Conwy before hand. Position remained the same. Corrected now.

ragnarosso: In my case I fired the flash to get some foreground in the picture but I know exactly what you mean! I also remember all the streetlights flicking on across the other side of the Bay. I was partly inspired by an incredible photo I once saw in the National Geographic. The photographer sat on top of a mountain overlooking the Pacific Ocean and with a wide angle lens had managed to capture an image of the entire lunar shadow approaching across the sea.
