The cottage in the centre of the photograph reminds me of happy times during the late 1940s and early 1950s. The family holidays were spent at the cottage and the memories of the time remain with me to this day.

We have visited a number of McDonalds in the UK but this one rates highly in our books. The service and food was excellent and the number of customers was a good clue to its popularity (the place was full).

The BSA motorcycle was a 1951 A7 'Star Twin'- Reg.No. LXJ 958. I still wonder if my bike is around somewhere !? ( I sold it about 1969)

Oh I remember this place in the 70's. I lived on Gower Road just a few streets down. We used to go to Mrs Wren's corner shop on the the er, corner just opposite this club. Would have just been off to left of this shot.

I have to wonder who would have been the star turn at this place. I was too young to ever go there.

Photograph taken from Wellington Road North/South looking west over the River Mersey. (Mersey Square is behind the photographer). The 'old' A560 is just visible on the left and is now part of the town bus station.
