View looking south before the M63 (now the M60)had reached Stockport. The gas tower and the old railway bridge (on the left)have been demolished and a Tesco Superstore has been built on the site behind the mill.

This photograph was taken in February 1979 from the top floor of Mottram Towers on Edward Street. The Infirmary has since been demolished leaving just the front.

Soon after this photograph was taken the building on the left crumbled followed by the demolition of the 'old' Station Hotel leaving the 'Tiviot' Hotel standing alone - as it does today, 30 years on !

Photograph taken near Broom Lane, Levenshulme.(Looking west towards,the now closed,Levenshulme Railway Station) This railway was the link between Chorlton-cum-Hardy and Gorton before closing and the track removed. The old line is now a pedestrian & cycle path with the occasional diversion - as shown in this image.

The whole 'block' is now Crewe Honda Centre after taking over the old 'A.R.Morris'cycle shop and 'Fredelec'.

The present view of this site is now a petrol station and car park in the foreground with the Tesco supermarket in the background. The rest of the car park is to the left. A 'before' photo can be seen under 'Brewery Street (2001) - pre-Tesco'.
