We lived at 3305 b Vega dr. until the 1972 Ice Storm.
We also used to play in the Revere slag pit just through the woods in the back.
They did some infra-red testing here in the late 60s.
lived on Orien Circle on the afb in early 70s. was sad to hear that the base had closed but it is even sadder to see what happened to the houses. i remember the fire at the commissary when we lived there
Thank you so much for posting these photos of of the housing area on Griffiss AFB - actually lived there in the late 60's.
Kind of a shame - as I remember the place was always so well kept - both by the base personnel and of course those of us that lived there.
Also remember the LONG walks to the bowling alley!
Any way again - thank you!
this is the most serene ive ever seen it. trees and brush look cleared and nicely kept and the waters not flowing out in deadly rapids lol. nice shot.
Kris, please post some pictures of the new juvenile psychiatric facility and slammer for NYC's hardened convicts so people can see what the new Marcy is like.
Is this Rev. Wright's church?
It's probably full of asbestos. And then there's Marcy Asylum ...
It was quite an endeavor to hack a canal through the blackfly-infested north woods.
