This is a unique place to visit in northern France. And not only for canadians. The memorial is newly renovated, with nearby information center, trenches, bomb craters and underground tunnels wich you can visit with a guide. My only deception was that my hope of seeing sheeps getting blown up by unnexploded mines was not achieved... ;)

Original and perfectly intact german coastal battery. As a group of 4 batteries, the first one was destroyed by an english commando on D-day and the other 3 are well preserved, just like this one. The observation bunker is situated 300 meters closer to the beach. This place is unique and I suggest very much that you include it in your travel plan in Normandy, as other famous WWII sites nearby.

Here, you can view a classic exemple of the easy-to-medium trek you will experience walking the Almbachklamm, metal bridges over canyons, ropes to hang to and some steps are to be expected if you want to get to the dam.
