If you want to take a look at the images on the internet, go open googleearth, zoom in on Christchurch.
Then click on the little clock up on the top, the 'Historical Imagery' thing. Then move the slider back to the left a few millimetres, to where it shows 26th Feb 2011.
Then go and look at the damage as recorded from the sky...
It is pretty serious. A lot of people did not survive that day, and there are still people that have not been located as yet.
