Thank you Bonnie for letting me know that this photo is so important to you. It was such a tragic event that even now, almost 70 years later, I feel anger and sadness about such an appalling event. I will return to Broome some day, and when I do I will revisit that wreck and place a flower near it for your grandmother.

I would love to come back here again and retire. I stayed here while I was backpacking up the coast when Cyclone Vance hit.
