See you soon… Best regards from Grasse, in France.

Hey all. Can't believe I came across this pic. I bought the building in 2001 and over a 6 year period and much fighting with the local housing association and historic Scotland managed to save the building when all the other Art Deco buildings on the Gallowgate were being pulled down. I'm 47 now and living in Perth Australia but I have very fond memories of working in the building and glad it's still around to be enjoyed by others.

If memory serves me well it was built for the Commercial Bank of Scotland and was last used as a bank by the RBS in the late 70s early 80s. I last remember it as a butchers which was served by the meat market which was directly across from it. When I bought it, it was falling down. The roof was leaking terribly, the whole interior had to be ripped out and unfortunately the lovely Terrazzo floor was ruined, Some of the granite on the exterior walls had come away and had to be replaced.

Anyway, thanks for posting this pic. Brought back great memories.

Thanks, WaWa!!!!!
