Picture was taken during a US Round Trip in 1996 - exact positioning is difficult with 14 years difference in time but sequencing of slides, Google Earth and the memory can do amazing things...

Like so many european towns and villages, Babenhausen also features a memorial for those that have perished on the "field of glory" - I somewhat doubt that they did see it as "glorious"...

Thanks for the kudos - I just found some other user having posted the "same" picture from what looks like exactly the same place - slightly different angel though: http://www.panoramio.com/photo/2524696 - this one is even nicer because that one was taken a bit later into the fall coloring of the trees :)

Soweit ich weiß, ist dort im Moment nicht viel los - die meisten Gebäude stehen leer, abgesehen von einigen ganz im Norden - das meiste verfällt bzw. wird abgerissen. Auch das alte Kasino ist in denkbar schlechtem Zustand... schade...

Így már értem, úgy hallottam most már sok hangárt bérbe adtak gabonatárolónak, raktárnak, úgyhogy őrzik. Szokott lenni gyorsulási verseny is, akkor be lehet menni, de akkor még szigorúbb az őrzés, mert tavaly halálos baleset is történt. Mi egy hónapja voltunk a reptérhez tartozó egykori atombomba tárolónál. Az annyira félreeső hely a többi részhez képest, hogy oda ma is simán be lehet menni.
