Great photo Rick Horseshoe Curve such an exciting place for the railroader and important for our nation's railroading history too. This site was even on Hitler's sabotage list back in the WWII days to cripple our war effort and our county..
There never was a real settlement at Two Guns. The ruins you photographed were built by my great uncle, Earl Cundiff, between 1920 and 1926. He also was the first U.S. Postmaster at the site. The circular tower was built as part of a tourist trap for early travelers on Route 66. Earl owned the property in your photographs as well as the ruins across Canyon Diablo, the largest of which still has a legible Mountain Lion sign.
