There never was a real settlement at Two Guns. The ruins you photographed were built by my great uncle, Earl Cundiff, between 1920 and 1926. He also was the first U.S. Postmaster at the site. The circular tower was built as part of a tourist trap for early travelers on Route 66. Earl owned the property in your photographs as well as the ruins across Canyon Diablo, the largest of which still has a legible Mountain Lion sign.
