We lived on Main St in one of the mill houses during the years of 1938 through 1947. My father worked in the Whitin Machine Works, went to St Patrick Church and Northbridge High School. We lived there before they filled in the pond across the street from us, we use to ice skate on the pond in the winter and had a row boat that we use to go fishing on and swimming up the street off of Border St. there was a beach. Have lots of great memories of that great place. I don't think the mill houses have been taken care as of the last time we rode by there. Keep up the graat pictures. Wish I had some to share. There's a Walgreens being built around the corner from me. They demolished a bit of local history to make room. It seems like Walgreens likes to find property with some history on it and destroy. Thinking of starting a grassroots anti-Walgreens campaign.
