MaryAlice, you find me yery glad reading such a wonderful comment by you tonight. We had some bad problems on PA for a few days here, so the comments weren´t displayed. I´m very glad you like my castle picture. You are completely right, these medieval castles were mostly built high upon rocks and often on the very edge in order to make them easy to defend against enemies. This one originates from 12th century, one may imagine what happened during all these centuries behind these walls... But of course the castles didn´t remain unchanged during this long time, this one was modernized till 20th century and it´s still inhabited by the earls of Fürstenberg.
But enough now with history...
