There were several nuclear tests here. Operation Grapple (1950-58) by the UK and Dominic I & II (1962) by the US though technically speaking they may not have actually been 'on' the island.The UK's were air burst at altitude 30,000 ft or from tethered ballon at 1500ft. The US tests were high altitude.
Have been to this twice, also twice when they came to the Palestine. My mom was a Rosie the Riveter in the Fort Worth Consolidated factory where she helped build the B24's. She is 91 now living in Waxahachie.
