At the time of this photo over 90,000 acres of forest had already burned. At this time and day the fire is two miles from Jensen Camp in Cachagua.

Overflow runoff from the 2008 winter storms.

I couldn't believe that just 2 weeks earlier the reservoir was so low the wooden buoys were on dry land.

The local swimming hole.

It's was chilly 28 degrees in Cachagua when this picture was taken in Jan of 08.

The first large tree on the right was where the original Carmel River bank ended, before the rains came.

In the dry season the Los Padres Reservoir water level can drop 25 feet or more. This reservoir provides much of the Carmel/Monterey area with it's drinking water.

This is the overflow from the Los Padres dam. This is also one of the best "unknown" swimming holes along the Carmel River.
