Thanks for your comments. I am no church goer either but I like to photograph churches. Perhaps it is because they are often the oldest buildings around & likely to put most places into historical context. When I visited St Mary & All Saints in 2013 it contained an interesting exhibition about the incarceration & beheading of Mary Queen of Scots at Fotheringay Castle in 1587. The church has stood on its hilltop since the early 15th Century and on a beautiful blue sky day, I thought it must be worth a snap!

We drove up it first and we were stunned as we saw the dead straight Hwy261 head straight for the cliff face. If it hadn't been for a huge RV coming down it (!!!).... my wife maybe would never have let me drive up it.
