This is actually the Denver Main telephone central office building built in 1929, and was the last of the "telephone palaces". I worked in there for several years - and I did fall asleep on the coach after one long work night, so it was a hotel of sorts. The building contains offices and the digital switching equipment for local and long distance phone services. Atop the building is the the remnant of the tower (one of 107 towers) of the first 1951 transcontinental microwave radio relay system from New York City, through Philly, Pittsburgh, Chicago, Omaha, Denver, Salt Lake City, Sacramento, to San Francisco. This system then provided coast-to-coast network television for ABC, CBS, and NBC and spawned the phrase, "From coast-to-coast! Live from New York! It's the <name> show!" that we saw/heard before our evening TV viewing in the 1950's. The microwave system also carried thousands of phone calls as well. Beautiful photo

This lovely old barn now houses the Tensleep Brewing Company. Their Speed Goat Ale is one of the finest beers I have ever tasted. An absolute must-visit location if you are lucky enough to visit Tensleep.

Old and new and green - all together. Nice composition! ~+~+~+~ LIKE! / GEFÄLLT MIR! ~+~+~+~+~ Jürgen grüßt Dich aus Frankfurt am Main / Jürgen says hello from Frankfurt-upon-Main (Germany)
