machinist's conversations
I have never really used it much, but I imagine long ago it was the quick walk to middlesbro. I did not realise how far it went, until I walked it a couple of years ago. It gets a bit smelly past the coke ovens though, best to pick a weekend when they are not in use. I live near the Yorkshire Coble in Redcar, and generally used to walk 15 miles a day to other areas, but I cannot do that now.

He must be a busy woodcarver, that`s all I can say! Unless they have invented a super wood carving machine besides the usual chainsaw! I have not seen the Guisboro forest one, where is it located?

I used to work in Saudi Arabia as an ex-pat, I heard some scary tales of how fast they could move! Also some of the lads used to cast them in plastic kits to put on the mantlepiece at home, but they are to ugly to look at, better off in a museum! Also I heard of them being put in a bucket to fight with a scorpion, I don`t know which came off best though! I once caught a lizard that was over 3 feet (one metre) long though when I was on nightshift work, I had it by the tail, and picked it up to go into the workshop, I slapped it onto the workbench, & all the Arabs came to see what all the fuss was about, it ended up in their pot! They said it was good eating.

This is the old path used by sailors to get to Middlesborough town for a drink and visit the local prostitutes 50 years ago, and is still complete, but sometimes it gets a little overgrown, but still passable from Redcar.

Maybe you are right, as I only took the photograph in passing, and I thought "Endevour" sometimes visited Whitby, you obviously are a better expert than me about ships, and I was in the Merchant Navy! I will change the name for you, as you could be right.
