Michael Prior's conversations

It was an explosives factory. It has now become a housing estate.

A sound piece of Canadian locomotive building. Interesting to note that the iron ore pellets that were refined into iron then steel and then became the main frame T members of this locomotive were carried in hopper cars, pulled by locomotives with an identical colour scheme as seen here. This is because of the former Wisconsin Central's financial interest in the former EWS. The Wisconsin Central carried the pellets from the Marquette Iron Range in Michigan to Algoma Steel Inc in Sault Ste Marie, Canada.

Fascinating photo. Such a shame it's beneath the blackwaters of Thruscross reservoir.

Fascinating photo. Thanks for sharing. When I walked through the village when it appeared in the drought a few years ago, wondered what it looked like. Cheers.

The public footpath from Bathford to Bathampton crosses the railway on a level crossing close to here.
