It makes me very sad to look at this picture, because the apartment and fur shop where my Opa and Oma used to live stood between the hotel on the left and the and the shop in the middle of this picture.
I believe it was destroyed around 1970 to make way for a car park, or perhaps for the wide road to the left of your picture.
I was last here in 1973, butt I must visit again one day!
Hallo pillboxs, Deine fotografische Dokumentation der abgebaggerten Ortschaften ist sensationell. Ich war in diesem Jahr zum ersten Mal in Immerath und stand hinter der Autobahnbrücke vor "Pesch", bzw. das, was es einmal war. Schwer vorstellbar, das alles! Habe vor 30 Jahren miterlebt, wie in Pattern (Tagebau Inden I) und Lich-Steinstraß (Tagebau Hambach)täglich Häuser verschwanden, bis die Orte nicht mehr existierten... Auf https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/TagebauInden#/media/File:RheinischesBraunkohlerevierDE.png ist das gesamte Rheinische Braunkohlerevier zu sehen.
Hast Du in einer der abgebaggerten Orte gewohnt bzw. wohnst Du in der Nähe? Bin leider nicht so oft in der Gegend und hoffe, Du kannst z. B. in Immerath Fotos machen, wenn der denkwürdige Tag des Kirchenabrisses sein wird.
