Mosquito NS906 - No. 418 Squadron RCAF (City of Edmonton) - Airborne 14:23 on 30 Sep 1944 from Coltishall on a day ranger to several Luftwaffe airfields and targets of opportunity in Denmark, paired with Mosquito HJ821 (F/Lt Miller). The pair passed Mou, Grove and Aalborg Ost airfields, attacked a train, and passed Kastrup airfield. At 18:35 struck tree tops, lost a wing and crashed in Grib Skov, 2,5 km SE of Marum, Sjælland. Pilot and Navigator were killed on impact and thrown clear of the burning wreck. German soldiers prevented locals from giving a proper burial, instead removed the bodies at an unknown location, such that no known grave site currently exists. Both airmen are now commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial. In 1947 a monument was dedicated at the crash site.
