Hello to everyone, I love being in the Australian outback mainly around the northern goldflieds of Western Australia "where less is more". Have been exploring this area for the last 10 years and still never ceases to amaze me in so many ways. I wonder what it must have been like for the early prospectors and my mind wonders off just thinking about the hardships and comradery. People from far away around the globe traveled to very remote locations to find gold in the outback. I collect found metal objects from the early 1900's to make metal sclupture. This is aways very challanging because I sense the history behind some of metal objects and try to find just the right way to present them so it dose not look like a pile of rusty metal but tells a story. Warm Regards Spider52.

Yes it is the remains of the last hotel in Burtville. The town of approx 400 occupants in its hey day.175 Hondas were mainly used for stockwork, mustering etc. when I was on Merolia station(Burtville) early 80s.

Approx 400 people, banks, pubs, racecourse when I managed Merolia station(Burtville)early 80s.The only buildings left were this house & sheds plus original bank buildinglocated approx.1km north of this house & half km east of old pub ruins. Also original general store used as shearing shed with yards 100 metres south of pub ruins.

That would have been quite a sight... Maybe that explains the lack of a roof. ☺☺

Great photo of my home .A bit worse for wear these days. Some of the best times of my life early 80s station manager

Nice to know an actual person who lived in this fine home.. It was an enjoyable historical fossick to rummage through the place. I wonder what year it was finally abandoned..

Interesting histories.. The roof looks like its collapsed since I was here in Oct 12

Generator shed - Used to run a southern cross diesel

The old DONKEY water heater worked a treat for me early 80s

Better late than never I thought ;-)

THanks again ZHSV
