Hello to everyone, I love being in the Australian outback mainly around the northern goldflieds of Western Australia "where less is more". Have been exploring this area for the last 10 years and still never ceases to amaze me in so many ways. I wonder what it must have been like for the early prospectors and my mind wonders off just thinking about the hardships and comradery. People from far away around the globe traveled to very remote locations to find gold in the outback. I collect found metal objects from the early 1900's to make metal sclupture. This is aways very challanging because I sense the history behind some of metal objects and try to find just the right way to present them so it dose not look like a pile of rusty metal but tells a story. Warm Regards Spider52.

Beautiful presentation!

Too true Spencer but after awhile you get into the swing of things and forget how lonely and foreboding this place is at night... However an approaching cars headlights do make you go for cover in case its the local drunken knob heads from the mines or town nearby.. :-)

:) I like the revised sign.

Magnificent aren't they?

On se sent très petit dans le goget de cette pelle hydraulique (L). Cordialement, J-Claude.

Impressionnante formation rocheuse & belle prise de vue (L). Salutations de France, J-Claude.

Nice to hear from you magpost, when looking around this place you could tell it was once a great place to live.

magpost, glad you drop by for a lookaround, you made the place come alive with your words. Always sad to see a place turn into ruin and unloved. I have not found the bank building/ruin as yet but the next time in that area I will put up pictures of what I find. Michael.

Yes it is the remains of the last hotel in Burtville. The town of approx 400 occupants in its hey day.175 Hondas were mainly used for stockwork, mustering etc. when I was on Merolia station(Burtville) early 80s.

That would have been quite a sight... Maybe that explains the lack of a roof. ☺☺
