I remember spotting this area from the car. It was shocking because I didn't expect to see something this unique on the drive. Glad you captured and shared it.

These vivid colors can change with sun position and rain.

Black Dragon Canyon gets its name from this painting. The details have faded with time, but the dragon can still be seen when viewed closely. From the head and feet in the middle, the wings stretch outward on both sides. Some say a tail can be seen trailing off toward the left top corner. This is the only known piece of Native American rock art that depicts a dragon.
