This is actually the old Princes Hwy bridge remnants. The original rail bridge is the one still in use.

I understand that fires destroyed the line more than once. This bridge happens to be the one that survived of the several large ones between Nayook and Noojee. The line was later cut back to Nayook. All before my time, but I've read up on the line's history.

Great place to take the kids on the weekend - large park and playground at the same location. $3 per person for a long ride around the track. Our 2 year old loved it.

New path running alongside the main Gippsland railway to connect the Gippsland Plains Rail Trail to Stratford. Gates provided as stock crosses at this location.

After climbing many, many steps up the mountain to a footbridge, I was suitably rewarded for my effort by the unexpected sight of this train heading down to Chaoping station to collect a load of sleepers.
This section of line normally only sees passenger trains that run pre-dawn for sunrise viewing, returning shortly after the event.
