Hi i would like to point out that the person responsible for the conversion of that building into a 3 bedroomed house was my father, mr david miller and not mr metcalfe from the lock keepers cottage next door, my father has all the photos of stages of conversion and excavation of lock in the back garden which was turned into a koi pond. He purchased the building for £20,000 in 1999 from mr metcalfe and spent £70,000+ over four years doing it up which included building a garage with clock while keeping same style as the original building. He then sold the building in july 2007 to the bradford council as they have intentions of re-opening the canal. Thanks p.s i have photos and planning certificates to back this up.

In what way is this mural "dodgy"? It was completed by some younger students in a safe and completely legal manner. Not sure where "satanic" comes in either, it's clearly just a rather artistic piece.

There really is some lovely architecture crumbling to ruin in this area.

After more reading -- the pipeline that you describe running via Gilstead, Hirst Wood and Saltaire to Heaton Reservoir is the 1860s aqueduct from Lower Barden Reservoir, not the 1901/1921 Nidd Aqueduct, which does indeed run via Maud Bridge as shown above. See, eg, 'Lesser Railways of the Yorkshire Dales and the dam builders in the age of steam' (Bowtell, Plateway Press 1991).
