The contractor had painted "Florence Mall" on the water tower but the mall was not finished so the tower could not promote an area that was not complete. So instead of repainting the whole area of the tower the "M" was turned to a "Y'". And a Northern Ky icon was born. I grew up in Hopeful Heights in 70's and used to ride my dirt bike and race the large earth movers on what is now Mall Road when it was being built.

That's actually 'Midtown'. What Atlantans call 'Downtown' is further South by about 2 miles.

Gee, I used to eat here when I was a little kid!I moved away in 1966 and have only been back onces since then and everything looked kind of the same in Grandview!
