I don't consider myself to be a photographer, just someone who enjoys pointing a camera and recording what I see. If I can give someone else a view of the places I visit that they may not otherwise be able to see, I'm happy. I very rarely Photoshop or alter my photos in any way, (apart from maybe an occasional bit of cropping), preferring them to look as natural as possible. Some of the photos I see on Panoramio (including prizewinners) look about as natural as a bunch of plastic flowers.

This is now the headquarters of the green energy company Ecotricity.

This has now closed and moved up the road a bit. It's now called 'World Foods'

An early evening shot, taken on the day of my daughter's graduation ceremony in the Cathedral.

Dates back to the 14th century

Robert Raikes founded the Sunday School movement while living in this 16th century house. A school was held in the courtyard.

Ironically, since temperence was a byword of many of the churches of his day, it is now a pub bearing his name.

This Victorian automaton clock shows four figures representing the constituent countries of the UK. (L-R Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales.) They strike the quarter hours while Old Father Time (centre) strikes the hours.

The John Moore Countryside museum and Merchant's house is housed in an historic 15th century timber-framed building, part of a row of restored late medieval early Tudor merchants’ cottages.

Ye Olde Black Bear is said to be the oldest inn in Gloucestershire. It dates from 1308 and William Shakespeare is said to have performed here with a travelling troupe, Stratford-upon-Avon being only about 30 miles away.
