This is actually Furnas Mill Dam. Smiley Mill Dam is upstream

Update, as of 2011 you can see this lake from mauxferry road. they cleared out a lot of trees and vegetation that used to keep this lake hidden.

thank you for identifying the tree. there were quite a few blooms. the location of the picture is accurate but I haven't been down in that area for a while,it's a nice hike. and yes there were a lot of blooms and trees of this kind. next year I might try to make it down there to see if I get some paw paw. thank you

honker haven taken from the lookout located in the parking lot. closed part of the year for waterfowl resting. I've caught bluegill, and bass. this was put together from 2 photos using a demo version of autostitch.

this is about 5 min walk from road to the south. this was taken from the north corner of lake looking south. I've caught bluegill and bass from here. it's closed part of the year for waterfowl resting. this is two photo's stitched together with a demo version of autostitch.

small 1 acre, couple minute walk from road. no parking area. bluegill, cat, carp. I didn't want to post this cause I like this little lake and I wanted to keep it secrete but oh well. oh and the little walk back to the lake is a deer crossing. I can't count the number of deer I've seen in the short distance back here.

Bluegill, redear, bass, crappie, channel cat, bullmouth cat. boat ramp.

nice lake got bluegill, bass. I caught a warmouth here(at least I think it was). it could have been a young smallmouth(they have the same markings around the eye area) but was compact size like a panfish and not elongated like a bass, so I'll claim it as a warmouth. that pier is new. they had one out there in the late 90's when I used to fish here, they took it out sometime, don't know what year. I know it wasn't there last year, so they put this new pier in this summer(2008).

Small lake, lots of bluegill, some decent size. 15min walk from parking at mallard marsh. you can also walk back here from the parking at mink meadow.

this is about a 30min walk through forest from the west. also about a 30 min walk from parking area by the sugar creek bridge to the north. great view of the lake from the hills on the west side. small 20-15ft section of land separates sugar creek from this lake on the east. I've seen bluegill, but haven't fished it yet. don't know the depth. Lots of wildlife, I saw a turkey and a deer on my way back here. also saw a beaver swim across the lake. the reddish vegitation to the north on the satellite image are all cattails.
