There's a temple up the hill directly behind where the photographer was standing, however . . . .

I see that you've located it at the edge of the High School playing field - it should actually be on Thanon Khetkehlang, just opposite the end of Chaisongkram Soi 2
The funeral was actually that of my mother-in-law.
One of my new nephews took this using my camera (I'm just visible under the black umbrella on the right of the photo).
