Thanks Steve This is one of the best hikes in the Mid Atlantic Region
It's been pointed out that the Indians were camped about a mile Southeast of this location:
Comment by planebill: Village was between Medicine Trail Coulee and Garryowen river loop
I still feel, however, that the photo represents where I was standing, and I knew that the location was approximate.
Thank you, Chris. My dad and I made a pilgrimage to Montana a couple of years ago to visit his family, and this was one of our side trips. The photos really don't do justice. It was an amazing spectacle in the middle of nowhere!
Thanks, goterei, glad you like it!
Hand auf`s Herz :-)
Less than five minutes later we crossed paths with a black bear browsing just off the trail. It seemed just as surprised as we were. After raising up on its hind legs and looking at us across a small field of tall plants, it dropped back down into the vegetation. We reversed course.
Great photo, I burst out laughing when I saw it!
I never heard that Steve. Very interesting. I'm glad you found this shot since your interest seem to be in this area too.
Best regards from New Jersey, USA.
