My grandparents used to live in Amery. The last time I was in Amery was in 1958, the population was 2600 folks, and you could walk from one end of the town to the other in less than 20 minutes.
There were no fences between yards, and everyone in town knew each other.
When I was there on summer vacation from school in Calif., my cousin Tom and I used to fish the Apple River. Really great times.
