john sayers's conversations

now closed down beginning of dec 2014 looks like it is getting converted into flats

You would have thought they would clear it up a bit - it is one of the focal points of the park...

This photo is not in Seaton Sluice as positioned in Google Earth. It is Whitley Bay from the town's links.

I have been uable to suggest the correct position because Panoramio states its position is fixed!

I was looking on Google earth when I came across one of your photos and that lead me to you others. You have some really nice photos of the harbour and I have enjoyed looking at them... Thank you...

The reason I was looking at the pictures in the first place was to see if there were many budding photographers in the area as we are running a competition at the Port of Blyth. If you or anyone that you know are interested, please visit our web site www.portofblyth.co.uk or send your photos to... community@portofblyth.co.uk or visit our web site at

I have enjoyed looking at you photos…

Thank you...

Stuart…

Was there 24.09.2009 food is absolutely brilliant.

I can see my seat in this photo

It was sad to see this old bridge go, as kids we spent many happy hours making and playing on rope swings attached to the underside of the roadway. I also remember the bridge featuring in a film called "Payroll" (if my memory serves me well) in the late 50's - early 60's.

Although I now live in East Yorkshire, I was born and brought up in Rosehill and The Albion and surrounding area was our adventure playground on our way to the Pearl cinema for the Saturday afternoon matinees. The Haggies rope works football ground and old air raid shelters were also nearby so ensuring great times as kids........Far better than Playstations!

Thanks strayduck.

This photograph has some serious dust bunny problems.
