This is the area the Russian Geologist Dmitrij Ivanovich Mushketov explored in summer 1910. The locals named this part of the mountain range Uch-Seid (Peak of the three saints). The glaciers have the names Seid, Urta-Seid (Middle) and Ton-Seid (Big).
Hi diamir. Nice pictures in a remote location I am planning to visit next summer. Could you tell me if there's a footpath around kulun lacs, coming from Konduk village. I am planning a hike round trip from the Oytal valley up to kulun and katsura biel pass then down the Kara-Kuldsha vallée on the other side (north). Have you hiked the place? Any info would be usefull. Thanks.
Both Kulun lakes appeared after an ancient earthquake, which resulted in massive slide, damming the existing river valley. Pamirs' Sarez lake has same origin, however it is much larger and younger.
