Previously known as 'ArtnScience' I am an Art-Loving, Scientist, Physician and Ethicist whose research, professional and personal interests are paired with a love of travel. I love going almost anywhere in the world, especially places where I can travel like a local resident and meet people. Lately, I travel by bicycle after getting to where I want my journey to begin. My camera helps me remember friends I make, local architecture and terrain through which I pass. I love all kinds of artistic endeavor; and, I enjoy painting, drawing and learning about Art History and Architecture. My combined interest in Art and Science made logical my web identity as **ArtnScience**. Leonardo Da Vinci is my personal hero. His scientific interests were as earth-shaking as was his art. Da Vinci's life personified Art & Science.

It's so difficult to cycle backwards, Art. ;-)

The addition of aquatic plants has greatly improved the appearance of our flood control project. This area of new development was enabled by construction of huge concrete conduits that channel away flood water. The original Carroll creek that passed through here had a tendency to flood and in 1976, a week before our historic district candle light walking tour, the creek flooded and damaged a swath through downtown. Now, the channel you see is artificial, most of the creek runs underground but a small sample of it flows into this concrete channel. It was getting filled with ugly algae so a physician who lives in one of the new condominiums decided to plant water lilies to keep the algae down. His work was noticed and others, ourselves included, contributed to a foundation to add to and maintain the water lilies. Now, more people come to this area because of the flowers. It's a good story for Frederick. Best regards. -Art

Amelia, No. We live only a mile away from this station. The reason we passed the station was to visit a little enclave of buildings that were built when the first railroad in this part of America was constructed. The novelty of railroads in the 19th century caused people to build near them. That novelty passed pretty quickly. Best regards. -Art

Thank you dear Maggie. The weather was variable here, starting off in bright sunshine and gradually deteriorating.
