Qaisrani's conversations

Hello Quaisrani, Ghul Lasht Zom South 6470m was climbed from me and my friend in July 1967. We needed Rope and eissrews, eisaxes because there is a narrow ridge to the top from the northside and in the lower part were large crevasses. I think this is not a mountain for trekking. In Tirich Mir area you need expeditionequipment and great experience for every mountain. But the Tirich Mir glacier is very nice and you can go up to 6500m (Attention crevasses use rope and crampons). Regards dietmarproske

When did you visit Tirich Mir base camp and beyond? I mean year and month. I plan a trek in a few days and would like to have an idea about it. Secondly, if you do remember, how easy or difficult is Gul Lasht Zom near Tirich for climbing? Does it require technical equipment or would it be possible just by trekking and glacier walking. Please reply soon as my trip is planned in just a few days. Regards

I was at Dhana Sar in 1965 while on an official tour. We were met by levies guardsmen and local headmen. Found them very hospitable people. They live simple away from the hububs of modern life. The place is surrounded by rough and high mountains. Great people , great place I would say.
