I have vivid memories of this beautiful church as a child I used to mow the lawn in front and wind the clock.the sexton at the time was an elderly gentleman of generous proportions with one arm he paid me 5 shillings a week ( 25p )for this which was a small fortune (about 1956 )at the time they where doing some internal renovations and I had to walk across the open tombs in the floor as the church at that time was quite gloomy I was absolutely terrified,I did this for about 2 years
