Hi Peter,
Yes! That was the rain/snow event that ended the record-setting dry spell in Phoenix. At the time, I was living about five miles from Sky Harbor Airport where not even a trace of precipitation was recorded for 143 consecutive days. I should upload more pics of that event as they really showcase the snowfall, but this is the best picture I took that day based on total composition.
The Grand Canyon did receive quite a bit of snow from that storm as did the snow-starved mountains near Flagstaff. If I remember correctly, there was literally no ski season during the Winter of 2005-2006!
