Hello, it was a great cafe, nice meals and a welcome smile. Is your Grandad Barrie? if so whats he up to these days and does he still have a motor bike?
I am compiling a set of flood pictures in the Alrewas area on http://alrewasvillage.co.uk and I wondered whether you could add a couple of tags to this photo to include it in the Panoramino set I have started. The tags would be Alrewas, 2007, flooding.
Thanks in anticipation
There are no faults on this picture...it captures the very essence of the location
I am interested in your title as it is indeed a place of sadness for those who grieved the loss of the twenty victims of the train crash which occurred on the platform track in the foreground on 1st Januanary 1946 (around 6.55 p.m.). It was the third worst crash on the LMS and was caused by ballast interfering with the points lock in advance of the platform. A fish train ran into the rear of a stationary passenger train. I wonder if there is a memorial plaque on the platform ? Thanks for sharing this atmospheric and interesting picture. Like. Regards. Jim
Thank you Bogdan.
Coming across this green scenery was a surprise, and a great pleasyre!
