Hi folks, scratch that - the cycling permit has been abolished now.
See here
In favour of the more sensible Greenway Code, drawn up with the London Cycling Campaign.

Hello George, sorry dont remember that chippy. was it any thing to do with the Gally chipshop. By the way the chippy in Lindon road; do you remember the wall between the chippy and Cunningtons, it had spikes on it, if you sat down on it (very carfully) with at bit of ajustment it was quit comfortable, for a wall.

George, it's all wonderful - I can't thank you enough for the efforts you've taken. Just to see these has brought memories flooding back - not just for me, but readers of the blog, too.
Wonderful Thanks Bob

Nice pic, George. Not forgetting the Autocraft, Raden Engineering and Watney plant hire periods in the 70s-80s.
Full mapping record for anyone interested is at the foot of this post
Nice work.
Cheers

This house was my Nan and granddads house. In my eyes this house is a monstrosity, the old cottage was hand built, this looks like it was bought from a catalog. Where is the grass? the lovely old cherry tree, the ponds and the pool so carefully tended to for years by my grandparents?? All gone in the aid of making a fast profit. I'm sorry Bob but i will forever disagree with your lovingly restored title for this picture. more like heartlessly ruined.

I was the Junior Booking Clerk on the Station for 6 months in 1956. I was useless at the job but I find it upsetting and frustrating that the station has closed and the line is gone.
