Thank you gajacks for pointing this out to me.
When I was sorting my pictures for all the world to see, I used my imagination. Couldn't remember. I should have wrote down the name of the building(s) for proper ID.
As a previous traveler on Old Route 66, I would say that it is a recent picture..this year or last.
On a historical note, it was used for a movie setting featuring Henry Fonda; I don't remember the film, but he was driving a truck and stopped at the diner.
On a personal note. I loved driving that road from Twenty Nine Palms, heading to the Colorado River, hardly any traffic...very desolate, beautiful desert setting.
I believe since getting the noriety of Route 66 hype, it has become more traveled.
This and the other pictures were taken just last weekend at the air show. I live about a mile away on the approach and can get good shots from my back yard. I took my twin boys to the show to give them a little taste of the history of aviation and they had a good time. I have always been a fan of aviation and have alway dreamed of learning how to fly but the closest I have come is simulators. Have a great trip to TOM and I will keep my eyes open for some pictures.

You are correct. But I still call it a "plane boneyard" no matter where it is located.
Now how did that dam get moved, earthquake?
I made the correction...hopefully correct on the Bull Run Creek!

Las Vegas è meraviglia delle meraviglie. Se non siate mai là, sareste nel timore, Once there, you will never forget it.
