I was stationed at KI Sawyer AFB from 1974-77 as a Law Enforcement Specialist. The winter of '76 had a snowstorm that shut the base down for days. Because it was difficult to see the road, one person would drive the vehicle and the other walk in front. I remember walking in front of our truck on this road, while my husband (no longer, thank goodness) drove. But for what its worth, its still God's country.
