Gooseberry Island used to be Stray Dog & my favorite "No People" spot.
Odd that an island that only appeared to have beach plums (a.k.a. wild rose hips - as seen here) and bay berries on it should be called "Gooseberry".
I never saw a single goose berry on that island!
Wild strawberries, a single blackberry bush (up by the observation towers), but no gooseberries.
Of course, those beach plums could "goose" you pretty good...
Actually... the place shoulda been called "Toad Island". Those toads got fat & sassy there, with all the mosquitos for food! You don't want to be on that island after dark!
