DOn't know if the location fits exactly, but this is the view from the publicly accessible mine towards one of the cliffs.

These cliffs are man-made so to say: the romans (well, actually, the spaniards, working as slaves) used water to get to the gold hidden in the earth. The ydid that very successfully, but it sweopt away a lot of land and created these cliffs. You can see they worked layer by layer.

Made the 16th of July 2001 with a Ricoh 5300 digital camera with a lot of compression because 16 Mb memorycards cost 40 euros in 2001 ;-)

View from within one of the halls of the Abbey on Mont Saint Michel. You can see people walking the banks. To me it looked like a kind of pelgrimage of people, looking for the promised lands...
