My ex-wife was born just round hte corner on Butterbowl Gardens. You can just see the entrance to the 'Bowl pub on the right hand side. Spent many happy hours and a few quid in there.
I attempted a reproduction of this photo in the summer of 2009, but from street level rather than an upstairs window. Unfortunately the 'landscaping' looks to have been removed at some point in the intervening twenty-eight years, passing control of the street from pedestrians to traffic.

I bought a jacket from the shop on hte left in December 2008.
I remember boating on hte river here many years ago.
