They might not be bluegums but the track and the area are known as the bluegum forest. Sorry, I didn't name it.

I assume by 'Westies' Joanna38 means the west side of Dangar Island. In some places people are not allowed to indulge their architectural fantasies. Not only can we indulge them but we can also love or hate them and nobody really minds. Such is Democracy.

You can just see Barrenjoey Lighthouse on the headland on the right.

Anyone visiting Sydney and having access to a car should drive north to West Head in the Kuringai National Park where this photo is taken. The vista is stunning and there are plenty of short walks in the bush. There are also ancient aboriginal engravings on the rocks.
