there's about 20,000 people in the Torshavnar Komunar and about 48,000 in the Faroe Islands.

Right in Torshavn there's restaurants, bars (Cafe Natur is especially popular), a movie theater, and the Nordic House - which holds plays and concerts.

And although the water remains ice-free through the year, I doubt it's much above 0 degrees celcius.
