You can be proud of getting the opportunity to photograph President Mubarak at this inauguration. I was stationed in the Sinai with UNEF during the seventies, and I am continuously trying to follow the progress in the development of the northern part of the peninsula I consider a part of the world where my hart belongs to.
I have enjoyed your photo series of the canal construction for some time now, and found it most interesting! As a former member of the Swedish United Nations Emergency Force stationed in this part of the Sinai peninsula during the 1970:s, with many pleasant memories from this sometimes desolute but always beautiful part of the world, I can with joy see that the project to bring water into the desert all the way to El Arish as it seems are really progressing. The western part of Sinai already flourish! We sometimes get opportunities to buy Egyptian vegetabiles up here in the north, and if you only label them "Produce of Sinai" in the future they will for sure be my first choice!
