The Sundial by Cliff Baxndale was inspired by a Dandelion clock that grew on the green on the site where an old oak had died. The piece works as a sundial, casting a shadow on cast bronze plaques around the base that depict aspects of the villges' history.
This sculture by William Lasdun was commissioned by Sleaford and District Civic Trust - its form was inspired by the old sailing barges that would have taken the seed away from Sleaford down the Slea Navigation, the angle of the piece makeing reference to Inland barges had to drop there masts to go under bridges.
The image represents a spring - the source of life (and community)and is part of a new village trail around Branston. The spring sculpture is adjacent to the old Sheepwash and so was at the centre of the socila life of old Branston, and is again now, thanks to the cafe and the Pub.
