I am surprized that you did not use solar panels instead. Must be quite windy in Hobyo. I recall your dune photo. I think the wind and the proximity of seashore explain everything...

Seems to me this is no desert sand, but sand from the sea shore. Blown by the winds. When you look at satellite photos, you see more.

For now water scarcity at Wargalo is overcome. New borehole has been developed by jointly Norwegian and Somali organizations of Yme and GSA.
