Excellent picture. I agree that it couldn't have been taken at the Grand Canyon mall, since one cannot see the port from there, Neve Sheanan is in the way.

Come non pensare alla mitica Julia, alla Tridentina, alla Cuneense... al Corpo d'Armata Alpino, alla tragica ritirata per uscire dalla sacca del Don, ai 40 gradi sotto zero, alla fame e al sonno, alle bucce di patata congelate, alle dita dei piedi che si distaccavano, agli stracci al posto degli scarponi, alle isbe dove talvolta i contadini russi, pur da noi invasi, offrivano latte caldo e polenta a questi "figli" non loro ma come i loro...

Il Sergente Rigoni, il Tenente Serri (alias Giulio Bedeschi), il Capitano Reitani... e tutti quelli che sono tornati distrutti nel corpo e nell'anima uniti per sempre a quelli che invece sono rimasti nella steppa, affamati, congelati, necrotizzati... Le centomila gavette di ghiaccio.
